The primary mission of the SME Infocomm Resource Centre (SIRC) @SIRS is to empower retailers with IT resources, skills & knowledge, to improve their productivity through adoption of infocomm solutions and training. SIRC@SIRS provides a one-stop centre that provides integrated services for businesses to seek support and consultancy on infocomm technology.
The Singapore Institute of Retail Studies (SIRS), a Continuing Education & Training (CET) institute of Nanyang Polytechnic, is the first CET centre set up in January 2006 as a collaborative project between Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP). SIRS has been conferred the National CET Institute (NCI) status – the pinnacle status for CET centres, since January 2011. SIRS is also one of WDA’s leading approved training providers for Retail WSQ programmes and with its all-inclusive approach and flexible training models, SIRS has successfully engaged and trained the workforce of many established as well as small & medium retailers alike. Equipped with this experience, SIRC@SIRS is able to recommend quality business and infocomm solutions for retail establishments, and customize solutions to meet individual needs and requirement in order to close performance gaps and enhance productivity.
