SIRS in Support of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training Initiative by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA)

To remain competitive in a global economy, the real estate agency industry must keep abreast of market development as well as constantly improve and upskill its workforce.

Training and development is imperative in today's knowledge-based economy. A dynamic and forward-looking real estate agent stays ahead of the competition by keeping his/her industry knowledge current, is familiar with the relevant guidelines, government policies and procedures of the industry. Training is also necessary to help agents develop and use the skills they need to adapt to changing industry and workplace needs, to promote innovation and to sustain their competitiveness.

The discerning Singapore public expects no less, that the real estate professionals whom they engage are knowledgeable and will provide timely, accurate, comprehensive and reliable advice. The Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) in regulating the real estate agency industry, shares these expectations.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training

SIRS is proud to be working with The Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) in providing training programmes especially for Singapore’s real estate agency industry to further enhance and raise the professionalism and service quality of the real estate professionals. CPD training in the area of marketing techniques, supervisory and interpersonal skills enhances the professional competency and effectiveness of real estate salespersons.

Under the Estate Agents (Estate Agency Work) Regulations 2010, every KEO, practising director/partner and salesperson will be required to undertake mandatory CPD - a minimum of 6 hours learning activities each calendar year. Fulfilling CPD hours is also a renewal licensing/registration condition stipulated in the Estate Agents (Licensing and Registration) Regulations 2010. Failure to comply will affect their registration and may lead to removal from the Public Register.
