Alibaba Global Course series - Intelligent Business 5.0: Innovation Entrepreneurship & Organisation Excellence in the Cognitive Era

The global pandemic is a catalyst that accelerated the adoption of digital strategies and technologies in businesses. While many are still grappling with digital transformation, some are already charting their evolution blueprint to move forward from Industrial 4.0 to Intelligent Business 5.0 in the cognitive era.
The fourth edition of the Alibaba Global Course series (AGCs) saw participants broaden their horizons and gained a deep understanding of how they could future-proof their business by leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to unlock new opportunities. Distinguished speakers shared their knowledge and best practices pertinent to business growth in the new digital world by embracing intelligent processes in Strategy and Transformation, Supply Chain, Marketing and Consumer Management.
Despite the disruption caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it did not stop our participants from learning and progressing as we made AGCs accessible for them online.
Alibaba Global Course series - Expand Your Global Footprint with Cross-Border E-Commerce

The third edition of the Alibaba Global Course series (AGCs) deep dives into challenges that businesses face in taking the first step outside their home country. One common hurdle that business owners must overcome in entering new markets is in the opening of new sales channels and the understanding of consumer behaviour.
Participants had the opportunity to learn from Alibaba’s top practitioners through their experience in facing and overcoming challenges in cross border businesses. The speakers shared insights not only of the Chinese market, but of trends in the Southeast Asian region, imparting actionable strategies and tips on growing attendees' businesses both locally and globally.
Alibaba Global Course series - New Retail

Held on 3rd April 2019, the second edition of the AGCs marked the signing of a MoU between Alibaba (China) Education & Technology, SIRS and SFIC Institute in collaboration to support the digital transformation for SFIC’s members and the supporting industries & companies.
The second edition of the AGCs introduced to participants the notion of "New Retail", coined by Alibaba founder Jack Ma. Enabled by cutting-edge technology such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, synergised by Big Data, brands must now relook their entire business model and strategy.
Participants gained new insights, learning how leading retailers in China and top sellers in marketplaces have leveraged the first-mover advantage to succeed in their businesses. As an added bonus, a "live" demonstration of the impact of livestreaming was showcased, further engaging the participants through an immersive performance.
Alibaba Global Course series - New Marketing

Following the hugely successful Alibaba Global Course held 4 months prior, SIRS kicked off the first of a four-part series on 30 August 2018. The focus of the first in the series focused on New Marketing – and how brands need to constantly evolve their strategies in order to engage their audiences. The one-day course covered topics ranging from content marketing to live-streaming, equipping attendees with the skills and knowledge to effectively grow and engage their fanbase online.

12 April 2018 marked the inaugural Alibaba Global Course. Held at Resorts World Sentosa, the event saw more than 2,000 participants who gained firsthand knowledge about Alibaba's global strategy through key leaders from Alibaba. Through the one day conference, participants learned how technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, and marketing strategies such as O2O in New Retail has not only benefited retailers in China, but also how the ways these strategies can be adapted for their own businesses.
