PCP - Retail Professional


The PCP - Retail Professional (PCP - RP) seeks to help retailers in their manpower needs by providing mid-career switchers with an opportunity to work in retail operations. Through the PCP - RP, participants will gain knowledge and be equipped in skillsets in operations, customer serivce, and supply chain roles, assisting retailers in meeting the growing consumer expectations while delivering a memorable customer journey.



The PCP - RP includes the following training modules from the Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Diploma in Retail (Operations):

  1. Adapt to Change
    Learn to evalulate local and global issues and trends that impact one's employability and job roles, and be able to identify competency gaps, determine training and development needs, and establish and evaluate appropriate training and learning opportunities.
  2. Service Leadership
    Recognise the characteristics of a leader, and discharge roles and responsibilities of a leader in operationalising the organisation's service vision, mission, and values.
  3. Workplace Communication
    Usage of appropriate methods/equipments/platforms to communicate policies and procedures to staff, and monitor their compliance including evaluating the effectiveness of methods and/or channels.
  4. Retailing and the Economy
    Understand key considerations and target markets in retaling as well as the application of major concepts in retailing.
  5. Sales Target Management
    Set, communicate, drive, and motivate staff to achieve sales targets and to review socio-economic changes in the local context as well as assess impact of external economic and political events on the local retail environment.

Salary Support


Employers stand to enjoy salary support for each employee that undergoes the PCP - Retail Professional track.


  1. Up to 70% of the trainee’s monthly salary, capped at $4,000 (excl. GST) per trainee per month, for the duration of the programme.
  2. Up to 90%* of the trainee’s monthly salary, capped at $6,000 (excl. GST) per trainee per month, for the programme duration.

*PMETs aged 40 years old and above, and/or participants who have been unemployed for more than six months
