Career Services Overview
SIRS provides career guidance for individuals seeking a career in retail and those considering a career move from another industry or within the retail industry. This includes facilitating placements for individuals trained by SIRS, so that they can gain employment in the retail industry after training.
Individuals can obtain information and advice on matters like the current retail employment situation, job opportunities within specific professional specialisations, and alternative job opportunities. We have a team of professional career consultants who will advise and guide potential jobseekers, even plan a training programme and work together to bring these trained jobseekers and potential employers together. SIRS' career guidance is a free service.
SIRS is the appointed programme manager for the following Place-and-Train Programmes for the retail industry:
Place-and-Train Programmes
Career Conversion Programme for Retail Industry (CCP-RI)
The Career Conversion Programme for Retail Industry (CCP-RI) seeks to help PMETs mid-career switchers undergo skills conversion to gain relevant competencies and take on new, exciting job functions in Retail Operations, Brand Management, Marketing, Merchandising or E-Commerce (Omni-Channel).
SkillsFuture Work-Study Programme
The SkillsFuture Work-Study Programme gives fresh graduates from polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) a head-start in careers related to their discipline of study. It provides them with more opportunities, after graduation, to build on the skills and knowledge they have acquired in school, and better supports their transition into the workforce.
Redeployment CCP
The Redeployment CCP aims to help retail companies reskill their employees who are in vulnerable job roles and at risk of redundancy as companies undergo business transformation. This programme allows companies to retain, reskill and redeploy existing workforce to take on new or redesigned job roles.
